The paint on my 79 was in decent shape. But I could not get a deep shine on it and it had so cloudy areas in the paint ,even after clay bar, rubbing compounds and different waxes. At wally world the other I picked up a new Meguiars product I haven't seen before. It's called Ultimate Compound. I washed the truck this morning with dish soap to strip the wax, dried it and parked it in the garage. I rubbed it by hand, and buffed it off. I could see a big difference right away. The top of the hood and cab had been sun baked(Truck came from CA) and the paint was rough in those areas. I did those areas with two coats, the first misting it with water, buffed it and hit again using just the compound. The paint smoothed out and is shiny once again. I could see myself in the paint even before I waxed it. Once I waxed it the green metallic really popped in the sun. The best eight bucks I ever spent. I highly recommend this product.

I really want to see close ups. I'm looking for something to get rid of VERY fine spiderweb looking scratches in VERY expensive black paint.
Would you recommend this?

Yeah, I have forgot about them. What I want is the teeeny scratches gone, maybe a glaze compound.
