I got a PM from "site administration" and was wondering if it was legit or not. It said that the site had detected a virus on my computer and that I should click on a link. It didn't look on the up and up so I thought I'd ask.

??? same ? I had.....looks bad when they are banned?? .....I did not go to link either, I guess I will see what the outcome is when I wake up later

It is not from us. We have had a guy that registered as ForumTeam that was banned and he came back as BestForumTeam, once again banned.

DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS YOU GET FROM THEM.

Oh.. and the only administration and forum moderators on this site are myself, buffs 78 ford, Gilligan, Ranger429, redmt79, and/or Blue79.... Anybody else that claims to be ignore them and report it to one of us and they will be dealt with...

I just got an e-mail stating that I had a virus on my couputer from a micheal Trey or something like that...he said that if i didnt fix it that my account would be deleted....I noticed he is banned... I just deleted the e-maill...

Don't be scared. Don't open any of the links that are sent to you.

We have tried every option so far to keep spammers off the forum except approving them ourselves. We really didn't want it to go to that point but there might not be a better option. It seems that we are getting as many as 2 a day registering lately.

How about when anyone new go's to register make them answer a Ford related question then do the CAPTCHA thing?

All new applicants are going to have to be approved by the board first. We really don't want to do it that way but there is no alternative. We have had a very large amount of spammers as of late and that is about the only way we see fit to cure the problem.
