I'm probably picking up a 78 F350 crew cab soon. It's pretty rough, but there are some good usable parts. Undecided if I'm going to try to salvage it, or part it out. 351/ 4speed, dump box. It's a cab + chassis dual rear wheel.
Once I get it, I'll make the decision about it's fate.

Save it, flat bed it, 22.5 ten lug wheels and roll with it :)

Where is it? I'm going to go snag it from you.

The roof is junk, rear doors need repair, but salvageable. Front doors are average for around here. one smashed fender, bent bumper, mouse infested interior. Frame and chassis is crunchy but not gone. Will need every line and hose replaced.

The guy says it needs to be gone by the weekend. Decisions, decisions...

Got it. Currently sitting on my trailer. The more I look at it, the better it looks. Blinded by love perhaps? Pictures soon.

OK, here we go. I'll add more pics when I actually look at the truck again. Haven't seen it for a couple weeks.

Oh, and I found out it was not mice, but raccoons that wrecked the interior.

Still no pics, it's been dark every chance I've had.
Messed with it a little bit tonight. Most of the lights work, but there are some issues that need work. Got the PTO cable freed up, and the dump valve lever moving.
Found out that the horn works while trying to get a turn indicator bulb working.
Probably the best news is that it runs. Not well, probably not on 8 cylinders, but it runs. Poured a little fuel in the carb and it pretty much popped right off and almost wants to idle. Only problem is the rear main leaks about as fast as you can pour oil in. Now that it's saturated again after 10 years, I hope it swells enough to become a slow drip so I can move the truck on its own.
I discovered some rot on the rear part of the frame, right at the front spring mount. It's getting pretty thin, as is the crossmember between the rails there. Not sure if it's going to be worth repairing that or not.
I have shared interest in the truck, and the other half wants parts, I want it complete so far.
PS - I'm trying to add posts to the forum, so what can I do to make this thread interesting?

More pics, plus a complete teardown and frame up resto. 12v Cummins with 5-plus-2. I liked the grey color that Scott used on his, but a darker shade of blue would work also. Ed's idea of ten-lugs is interesting. Oh, and add some boobs.
That's all. :D

I've got the 12 valve. Also have a few 5 speeds and an old GMC Brownie box. Have 10 lug axles out of a 3500HD, rockwell 103 rear with 4.56 gears. How do you think the cummins would like that?
I'll work on the boobs, but might have to wait for warmer weather.

Looks like this project might not happen unless someone else takes over. The truck is available if anyone's interested.
