Well here it is. The rear window defrost. I bought this off of lostinfords last year. I'm going to put it in my F-250.

Was that an option in the supercab and above, or all F series. The only time I've seen one was a supercab.

I'm not sure Jay. It would make more sense in a supercab or crewcab than it would a regular cab. Maybe Bob will post up what it came out of. I know he told me but I forget.

Thought I remember Lostinfords saying it came out of a 75 or 76 supercab. Im surprised you dont have it installed yet. That would be a nice addition to a crew if you end up getting one.

Yup!, it was from a super cab, 2wd, I think a 75, sometimes I have trouble remembering yesterday. It seems this rear defrost is talked about on other forums as well, at least it will go to good use and not re-sold! I do know that I still have the roof skin from it, as a repair for my '79.

Is that ever going in Scott?

As soon as it gets warm enough outside to start pulling trucks out Bob, they are pretty tight in the garage now.

I've had a lot of 73-79 Ford trucks, and only ever had 1 rear defrost window, it was in a 1975 also but was a regular cab highboy. It actually got broken when loading the back of the truck with firewood.. we were using it like a tractor in the bush At the time I did not realize that it was a rare option. I probably would have removed it and put it away and stuck a plain glass or newer slider in.

I have one factory CB that was actually given to me by a good friend that runs a light truck and van wrecking yard. He knew I had given up trying to find one, and one came in to his yard in a rotted out truck that hadn't been on the road in 15yrs.

It's going into my 4door Bronco when it is done.

Did Ford offer the storage compartment behind the seat in the 73-79 like the 67-72?

Yes they did. The exact same thing is still available at JC Whitney from what I've been told. Oh and to bad about that rear defrost.
