What kinda time frame did it take to "blow" the second Radiator... was it a used radiator, or was it a new one.... I ask this because the only thing I can think of that would "blow" a radiator is a slightly blow head gasket, or a cracked or warped head that is letting a cylinder pressurize the water system.... but I would think a hose clamp would let it leak off the kind of pressure it would take to pop a radiator....

Also a wrong psi cap.

I would also be suspicious of the cap, either the relief is stuck or wrong pressure.

Yeah.. that too... But I didn't mention it because I was thinking that was common knowledge...

I was thinking maybe they had installed the wrong cap on it. Also thought it could be a cracked or blown head gasket. I will be going down to Miami tomorrow and see watts up.

Went down and looked at the Bronco, this is watt I found:

1 - Top of tank was literally blown outword towards the front of the engine.

2- Gooey moosh on top of the Compressor that came from the top of the Radiator.

3- No water in the Oil ???

I believe it is a blown Head gasket or a cracked Cyl. head.

Watt you guys think?

I agree, the gooey mush is probably oil that was pushed into the cooling system and rose to the top of the radiator, although I am a bit surprised there is no coolant in the oil pan. A compression check should confirm.

A bad cap could have let the pressure build to the point of blowing the top tank out.

this is the second or third time, i have read that !

Could it just be that simple?

It could be, especially if the radiator was old and the solder joints were starting to break down. But I also wouldn't rule out a leaky head gasket pressuring the system.
