My 400 has a metal intake gasket with the valley pan molded in, can I remove the intake to soak it and clean it out and put some RTV sealant around the port holes on the gasket and re-use it? Or should I buy a new metal gasket?

Buy a new one dont take the chance of having an internal vacum leak..

I dont think you need a second gasket if you are using a velley pan ... no valley pan = use a gasket ....

It's like this:

And I was in a hurry typing as I had to leave, I was trying to ask if I had to buy a new gasket for the engine or if I could re-use it as it is metal, when I changed intake manifolds on my bronco(which doesn't use a valley pan) I had to buy new gaskets but they were the composite gasket or something like that.

See those ridges around the intake ports? They compress when you torque the intake making a seal. No way to reuse a old one with any luck. Spend the 24 bucks and feel safe.

I just put a 4 bbl intake on my bronco, and did some research, ... of all that i read , it was 50/50 on responses to reusing.... just about everyone said to thro the end gaskets away and use gasket goop tho - altho i used the gaskets in the kit. I havent put any miles on since tho so i cant give a opinion yet. I did put a new valley in , as i like the idea of it stopping all that slugde off the intake ... i was going to reuse my pan , but it and all my parts motor ones were cracked in the pan part ....
