I adjusted it to where the clutch is engaged when you first press the petal... like a 1/4 of an inch down ... where before it was at the floor... I had to adjust it a good bit... I never really had to mess with this thing before... I just hope that I didnt over adjust it and I am not going to burn whats left of it.... I love driving it, I am just procrastinating on pulling the trans and transfer to do my rear main seal... and the seals on the tranny... It seems to be fine no burnt smell and it shifts fine... thanks for your inputs!!

to start whats the free play in the pedal, it should b .75~1.5" and part of that depends on clutch design, you want some free play as the clutch witll stay engaged other wise or damage the clutch release bearing, and the clutch

Like blythe said, when the pedal is all the way up, you should have about an inch of movement before anything happens with the clutch. Free play is important, because it makes sure that the clutch is completely engaged, and the throwout bearing isn't dragging. I would loosen up your adjustment just a little bit, to get the pedal you should have

Or I adjust mine so it grabs probably 1 1/2 inches off the floor. How far off the floor is the pedal when the clutch starts to grab when you are starting out?

if your clutch is releasing/ catching just off the flour
you are way out of adjustment or need new clutch,
how many miles are on this clutch,
an old school way of checking your clutch is to put your truck in a high gear, likethird and try to get the truck moving,
now if the truck engine just rev's up theres too much "slip" andneeds to be replaced, but on the other hand if it bucks and tryes to go them your just out of adjustment
if you ned more help i beleive i listed my shop # in profile
