So, be honest has the shape of the economy been felt by your household yet? How.
My job is stable as it gets (Government) but I see it elsewhere, groceries auto parts, and buddies struggling with keeping jobs in this market.
Honestly as a state WV has always struggled with factory jobs that aren't involved with coal mining directly.
Just wondering how it is seen/felt elsewhere in the country.

Not much different around here so far. Except for the drop in housing prices of course, which is good for some and bad for others, depending if you are buying or selling.

My job is also stable because we have a lot of state and government contracts. And it looks like we will be getting more work instead of slowing down.

Main thing for our household is we are trying to get completely out of debt in the next few years (including the house). This is to prepare for the future, and hunker down for the taxes we will all owe for these massive government spendulus packages. :cash

It's got me. I have only drove the semi 3 times since I've been back from vacation. And now the company I haul precast for is having a meeting the 23rd of this month to "discuss" pay cuts. They are based out of Des Moines, Ia and are flying the private company jet over for this meeting. I hate corporate America.

Thats like what, a 6hr drive.... rich yuppies.

Dont seem to be doing to bad although it is still slow at work. We've managed to keep all of our contracts with very little cuts. I dont see it getting much worse as far as work goes. Seems we always "idle" along this time of year any way.

I can't really say it's affected my household much.... Hell my job never was stable.... but I can see where it is affecting my area..... I have several friends that have lost thier jobs.....

Lisa and I have been trying to crawl out of debt for a few years now.... and even though we are far from being out of debt, I can tell a difference
