I bought this truck back in 1996. It was pretty pristine when I got it but I had always wanted a 429 motor in one of these trucks. I found a 70 429 Thunderjet motor a few years after I had it and did a complete frame off on it. It really did not need it but I wanted to put some paint on the frame rails.

When I got it, had 38.5" mudders on it. It also had a custom front pipe bumper on it that would of been fine if it was a bush truck.

I really wasn't computer savy nor was I into taking pictures so this is all I have of the rebuild.

Custom sawhorses for the cab and bed. I was going to use the factory topper and have it painted all black with tinted windows but ditched that idea.

No, I sold that topper with the old brown supercab I had Scott, sorry. I'm actually kicking myself for not doing what I had originally intended to do with it.

Thanks Johnny. I don't frame off all of them, just give them a good once over. I've always wanted a 429 in an F-series so this was the truck to do it to.

Today I pulled it out of the garage for the 1st time this year and washed off all the dust that accumulated on it. I also got rid of the window film on the back window and applied a real nice decal to it.

Two questions for you. Rnager429

A. I was just looking at your F-250 and noticed that it had a fuel tank in the cab, I thought that stopped in 77. Was that correct or was it a cab swap?

2. The wheels that came stock on both your Bronco and F-250. I have two sets of them, An 8 lug 16.5 set of five from my highboy and a 5 lug 15" set of five. What is the proper name for them, Turbines or Typhoons? Wanting to sell them but not sure of the correct name.

When I bought the truck from a local Ford dealer in 1996 they advertised it as having only 672 miles on it. I have since recieved all of the titles of the people that owned it prior to me. The last guy that owned it was supposedly a multi-millionaire who had some financial problems with the IRS. He had this truck and a bunch of other stuff in storage at a seperate place and from what I have been told the IRS found it all and then sold it. That is where the dealer came in. All of the title information that I have showed the mileage to be accurate. Why the truck has an in cab tank I couldn't tell you. If for some reason the cab was swapped at some time or if it actually was one that was sold from Ford like that I don't know. If the truck had a cab swap I would suspect that the mileage would of been way over 672. I'm not big on the in cab tank and have actually thought about changing cabs but have since decided to just leave it alone.

As far as the wheels I always called them Hurricanes. I just googled Hurricane wheels and this is what I found: http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103163

Your truck (and Bronco) are awesome.

Is that the factory rear slider? I'm looking to either "restore" the seals/weather stripping/mole fur on my aluminum framed slider or just get a newer slider.

Are all your vehicles black? I see another truck through the window.

Thanks. I believe that is the original rear window. Not all are black, my 79 crew is brown now but going to be gray metallic and my PSD is blue metallic.

That truck is my father in laws Dodge I sold a while ago on ebay.
